No ALPRs Virtual Town Hall in Broward County - Aug 16

Automated license plate readers (ALPRs) are cameras which scan millions of plates daily, giving police enormous unchecked power that challenges our constitutional rights. In Florida there are about 7,000 cameras. In Broward County alone, there are about 800 cameras. If this number continues to grow exponentially, it could be possible for the government to obtain a detailed pattern of your life without a warrant. Public safety matters, but these ALPR contracts are being enacted with little to no public input or government acountability.
